Event winner John Knight (L) receives a golf day voucher from skipper Nigel Stevenson
A magnificent Chestfield Golf Course bathed in sun with light winds was always going to be a high scoring day, with 17 members enjoying the conditions and views of the Thames Estuary it was new member John Knight (28HC) who smashed the course with a resounding 44 points. Nigel Stevenson (20HC) was a close second with 42 points and a chirpy Mick Bevan (24HC) let everyone know about his 3rd place 40 points. All bar 2 of the members scored 30 points or more keeping the handicap sec very happy.
In the KO Cup, Alan Mountain, Alix Mitchell, Bob McDougall and Pete Kenehan all progressed to the next round. Ian Jackson made it a hatrick of nearest the pin spot prizes with Alix Mitchell and Andy Oxberry collecting the 2 other prizes available on the day. Last but not least, the Wooden Spoon for last place went to Gareth Venables.
The rollover 2s club was one by Nigel Stevenson (£35) and The Sweepstake carries over to the next event
