First match of the season at the infamous Lydd Golf Course which for a change was gentle on the members which reflected in the higher than usual scores. Carl Bolton (21hc) took full advantage of the tame weather conditions with a staggering 40 points winning by 6 points to new club captain Nigel Stevenson (20hc) in second place and on a count back Alex McBeth (20hc) third. 4 other members also recorded 34 points making this one of the tightest results on record.
Pat Dawkins made up for a disappointing back 9 with 2 nearest the pin spot prizes, Dave Taylor collecting the third nearest the pin. The pair also split the 2s club cash pot. New member Andy Bacon had the dubious pleasure of being the first winner of the new wooden spoon award.
