A calm but cold day at Littlestone Warren golf course made for some high scores as St Stephen’s took on their second event of the year. Standing out from the pack and winning only his 2nd winners voucher in 6 years, Simon Fowler pounced on the opportunity at this higher handicap friendly course with an emphatic 44 points.
Another higher handicap member Chris Snell on 38 points also found conditions and course design to his favour but just conceded 2nd place to Sean Rutt on count-back.
A pocket of ‘Bob’s Balls’ went to the spot prize winners for nearest the pin: Gareth Venables, Alan Mountain, Chris Snell, Simon Fowler and new member Paul Garlick. Longest drive was narrowly won by Gareth Venables with a 280 yard flyer.
New member Will Weller braved his new audience to collect his first award with the society – the wooden spoon
