Chestfield GC 29-4-17

Chestfield society day was a special money raiser event for member Kevin Mullins son Ethan who has the very rare disease MPS (see news blog). “Wear Blue for Ethan” was fully supported by all members in attendance and raised £295.50 which will be gifted to Ethan’s family as part of their on-going charity work.

Chestfield, despite the sunny conditions, proved to be a tough course on the day with brisk winds and greens still undergoing winter prep. Andy Oxberry (13hc) 33 points took 1st prize in a 3 way count back just beating 2nd place Karl Robson and Mike Barham in 3rd place. Nearest the pins also went to Andy Oxberry (inc 2’s club), Rob Impey and Ian Jackson. All winners putting the prize money back into the charity pot.

Club secretary Nigel Stevenson was awarded a claret jug for making it 60 years on this planet followed by an impromptu birthday cake donated the ‘The Hut’ @ Chestfield snack bar ladies Karen and Trine – many thanks ladies and good luck with the new venture.
