On yet another visit to a challenging Ashford course we were blessed lovely breakfast and a dry and warm day!
£140 was donated to the cancer charity in return for our generously low price arranged by Ashford skipper and Nigel’s friend Gary Miller. 👏 👏
Winner of the day on countback was big hitter Charlie Orpin (H8) on 34 points, very well deserved. Nudged into second was Neil Lauchlan (H18) on 34. Third place went to Nick Dobson (H17) 32 points.
Ivor Castle beat Phil Ballance in the cup match.matches.
Charlie Orpin won the nearest approach by driving to the edge of the green, all that chipping practice worked in his favour.
Long drive was won by Ieuan Jones.
Nearest the pins were won by Pat, Steve, Ieuan and Ian Horsham.
Not many players hit 30 points but one unlucky chap who wasn’t on form got to take the wooden spoon – Mr Mark “Vinnie” Vinter.
It was a great turn out and a cracking course with tough greens! We shall return.
