St Stephen’s Golf Society members Bob McDougal and Mick Bevan took to the golf course for the final match of the 2022 Knock Out Cup. With over 30 members entering this years competition it was all down to this years finalist play in sunny, calm but chilly conditions.
McDougal took an early lead with some consistent, steady golf that has underlined his season eventually going to 2 up but a tenacious Bevan clawed it back to all square on the 5th.
McDougal went again with 6 aggressive holes taking him to an unassailable 4 up with 6 to play. Lesser golfers would have been intimidated with golf of this standard but not Bevan, yet again he fought back to 1 under by the 15th.
The following 2 holes were halved so Bevan needed to win the 18th to force a sudden death play-off, but with both players bogeying the 18th McDougal won the KO cup with the last putt of the round
