Fri 31st Oct: Redlibbetts

Probably the most challenging event of the year with horizontal rain, strong winds and a very challenging 18 holes reflected the lower than average scores for Redlibbets in north Kent.

Phil Balance (R) receives his winners voucher from skip Ian Horsham

A belligerent 39 points from Phil Balance (18HC) easily took 1st place and new member Andy Mair (17HC) 2nd on 35 points. However, it took a 3 way countback to confirm 3rd place which eventually went to Gareth Venables (12HC) on 32 points.

Venables also cleaned up in the spot prize competition grabbing 2 nearest the pins and the longest drive, Pete Kenehan and new member Tony Reveley also winning nearest the pins

With all the other attendees scoring 30 or less the wooden spoon was going to be a close-run prize, Derek Bevan made sure he added the coveted and beautifully designed wooden spoon as he struggled to 17 points.

In the cup it was semi-final day for Ian Nearly and Charlie Orpin, the former beating Orpin 2 and 1 and will play Ian Horsham in the final.

2s Club was shared between Phil Balance, Pat Dawkins and Charlie Orpin.
