Sheerness GC was a bridge too far for some members coming close after our very successful Wear Blue for Ethan charity golf day, but the hardy few who braved the atrocious conditions were rightly reward.
Yet again it was the Bob McDougall (17HC) show, picking up a spot prize, the rollover sweepstake and 2nd place on 31 points but still the bridesmaid to new member Ian Neary (24HC) who dug deep winning on the last hole with 32 points. Skipper Simon Fowler (26HC) sailed into 3rd with 28 points.
Scores in the 20s reflected the condition for the rest of the pack with Mick Bevan taking home the wooden spoon on 18 points.
In the cup there was more last hole drama between Nigel Stevenson (16HC) and Chris Snell (28HC). Snell was 4 down on the 12th but clawed his way back to all square on the last hole to win on countback.
