9th December: Cotton Challenge - Sene Valley
Match Report
St Stephen's where invited to submit a team for the first 'Cotton Challenge' 4 ball society match at the Sene Valley course near Hythe after attending 2 society days there in the past 12 months.
Skipper Alex McBeth (21), club champion Jason Robson (21), Secretary Nigel Stevenson (20) and Kevin Mullins (28) we're second to last out of 7 x 4 balls playing best 2 player scores per hole rule. The St Stephen's team started well despite poor visibility and as the weather improved the team managed a consistent average of just under 5 points per hole ending up winners by 6 points on 89 points beating 'The Magnet' (Deal) 2s. The winners each received a case of Marston beers and a 4 ball voucher for next year.
It's hoped that 2 St Stephens teams will be in attendance at next years event due to be held in Sept 17

26th November: The Ridge
Match Report
After a 3 year break the society returned to The Ridge on a cold but still day for the last league and cup match of the season. With 4 members looking to secure a cup win and several others hoping to improve their league position it was always going to be a competitive day.
For the second month Mason Robson not only secured the overall league winners position, he also won the day and beat Dave Gregory in the cup final by 20pts. Runners up final was a much closer event with Steve Winder and Kevin Mullins taking the result to the last hole but with both players failing to score Steve Winder took the 3rd place.

29th October: Chestfield
Match Report
On a very bright sunny haloween weekend 2 new members joined at chesssfield on arguably one of the best golf clubs in kent. It turned out to be a high scoring points total with Jason Robson winning on 39pts as well as reaching the cup final and claiming top position on the overall years points average. However the day belonged to Chessfield Club member Louisa Demetrious(27),after casting a Halloween spell over the rest of the field he came 2nd with 38pts, won both nearest the pins and cleared up in the two's club. Dave Gregory once again finished in the top three for the second month running with a respectable 36pts.

24th September: Etchinghill
Match Report
It's taken him nearly 2 years but at last skipper Alex McBeth wins a competiton! A windy Etchinghill slashed overall scores as members struggled with the wind, heavy rough and fast grees. Alex McBeth's (22) winning score, a well under par 33pts for a 70 stroke course. Dave Gregory (27) took second on countback with 32pts against Howard Turbitt (22).

27th August: Canterbury
Match Report
Only 10 points separated the entire field at Scotland Hills as good weather and a competitive field not only looked to take advantage of the conditions but also to take top place on the leader board.
It was experience that won the day with veteran golfer Dave Gregory (28) winning on count back from an exuberant and youthful Danny Omar (10). Howard Turbitt (22) just missing 1st place with a consistent 35 points. Howard also took nearest the pin along with Mike Barham.

30th July: High Elms
Match Report
4 new members joined at High Elms, one of North Kent's top venues and a tough 18 holes. Luckily the weather looked after us as most members carded 30+ points making for a tight result. It was another recently new member who took the honors this month, Louis Dawber attending his second society match snatched 1st place on the last hole with a 5 for 4, Louis was chased all the way by Mr consistency himself Jason Robson on 35 points. And despite heavy sanctions from the handicap sec, Mike Barham still managed a podium with 34 points.

25th June: Sene Valley
Match Report
Due to heavy showers and thunder, the club pro closed the course half way through the society day. Some members having sheltered from torrential rain and extremely close lightning strikes finished the course but the majority (who heard the klaxon) returned to the club house. As you can see from the photos, it was a dramatic day with some members accumulating big scores only to be thwarted by the elements. Return match being discussed. Date TBA

28th May: Ruxley (Orpington)
Match Report
The Ruxley course green keepers have for the past 6 months been struggling to repair flooding and criminal damage to several of the greens. After extensive discussions with management and head green keeper which included a detail report skipper Alex McBeth and club sec Nigel Stevenson decided to honour the booking.
It turned out to be a great decision with the repair work done the course was in fantastic condition with lush greens and fairways, the society day was enjoyed by all attendees. St Stephens Golf Society would like to thank Sharron Pearce and the team for sticking with us and for their hard word in getting the course back into shape.
The day was won by new member Mike Barham (20) with a stunning 42 points followed closely by, and in the same group, Nigel Stevenson (22) with 39 points. Louis Dawber (24), another new member came in 3rd with a respectable 37 points.
But the day was stolen by Danny Omer who cleaned up the 2 nearest pins and 2s club prizes.

30th April: Boughton
Match Report:
A beautiful sunny day welcomed this months society match at Boughton Golf Course. With 2 weddings and work commitments a smaller than average attendance was nonetheless well supported as the members competed for £100 worth of prizes. The day also saw the preliminary round of the KO cup with 4 members progressing for the £95 worth of prizes and the new claret jug.

Lou Demetrios(28) just pipped Jason Robson(23) on count back after both carding 36 points, closely followed by third place and nearest the pin winner Steve Winder(19). Alex McBeth won his own prize at the captains hole and Antony 'spanner' Back taking the other nearest the pin despite acute weight issues.

26th March: West Malling
Match Report:
First visit to the beautiful West Malling 'Spitfire' course for the society, the winter greens made for a tricky round of golf with wet conditions and many water hazards. Danny Omar (13) finally took first prize after many consolation awards with a tenacious 40 points, Steve Winder confirmed continued consistence with 37 points just pipping Darren Holman's regulation 36 points. Darren also took a nearest the pin and Captains Hole prizes as he and Danny followed up on there Princes GC success earlier in the month. First time winner Rob Impey and putting maestro Nigel Stevenson shared the 2's club birdie prize.

11th March: Prince's
Match Report:
16 members attended the societies first full event at Princes. Played on a Friday the club took full advantage of the winter fees offer and enjoyed a beautiful spring day.
Danny Wrench (17) took first prize with an exceptional 38pts for a links card with the forever consistent Daren Holman (10) a close second with a perfect 36pts. Danny Omar (13) held off the pack of 6 members all carding 30+ scores with 35pts.

27th February: Lydd GC
Match Report:
Another tough day at the infamous Lydd Golf Course, luckily no rain today but a biting NE wind made conditions very hard especially for the low handicap members. Antony 'Spanner' Back playing off 7HC did however manage both nearest the pins picking up a double prize of club logo Titleist pro-V1 golf ball packs.
This season the society have decided to award cash or voucher prizes and first to take the £30 first prize was Jason Robson (24) with a very hard earnt 35 points Stableford, followed by 28 HC Mar 'Buck' Burns and Steve 'Stevie' Winder (19) 32 points.
